“My Favorite Dream” is a gem that came from Boudleaux Bryant’s private home tapes. (Boudleaux and Felice Bryant penned a number of classics including “All I Have To Do Is Dream,” “Love Hurts,” “Rocky Top” and many others). His son, Del, asked if I might consider recording one of his dad’s never recorded songs; he sent me some demos. Like getting the keys to an old closed gold mine, Matt and I went over these nuggets. THIS could have been a classic 1940’s standard. I enlisted Andy to set it up with his incredible time-travel machine—the zither. He paints us somewhere into the past on this forgotten instrument.
