I set out to write a song that sounded old – I mean like a 100 years old. Some of those old songs have verses that don’t have anything to do with the rest of the song, so I took advantage of that tradition, writing a verse about creepy nocturnal avians. Andy and Claire really made this song. Andy did his parts at home, and Claire recorded hers in Toronto.
