John Gaar is on the Brighter Side of Maybe
With years of musical experience, Gaar has honed his guitar skills to a razor sharp edge, pushing the limits of traditional southern rock while adding in his own style and flair, which constantly revitalizes and refreshes the listener. As the sole songwriter of the material, he has taken his abilities to new plateaus with The Brighter Side of Maybe, while building upon his first landmark release, Bittersweet Success. By utilizing lyrics steeped in personal reflection and harnessing an innate ability to tell weaving, captivating stories, Gaar continues to keep fans on the edge of their seats with each chord and chorus that passes by.
After making waves throughout the Austin scene in the mid-2000s, local media began to swarm around one of the city’s growing stars, as he appeared on the local FOX network, along with other channels to promote Bittersweet Success. While drawing comparisons to the Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Lynard Skynard, Neal Young, Marshall Tucker, and other rock and roll legends, fans from coast to coast began to awaken to Gaar’s intoxicating sound. With a white knuckled, relentless approach to touring and traveling, he played upwards of 300 shows per year, exhibiting a steely will and passionate love for music which shone through right onto the stage on a nightly basis.
Tradition Magazine was just one of the publications to pick up on his budding success, saying “His originals are right up with the masters, as is his playing and obvious stage presence!”
Following the release of The Brighter Side of Maybe on July 7, Gaar and his supporting cast will be taking their show on the road once again, aiming to hit a plethora of cities throughout the rest of 2011. With the addition of a new booking agent, the band hopes to promote the next blockbuster release while illustrating Gaar’s ability to transcend the typical southern rock musician and propel himself in a league of his own.
The Brighter Side of Maybe is currently available through Gaar’s official website, and digital downloads can be purchased through iTunes or Amazon.
