Politically Correct
Politically Correct

(Chorus – 1)
I’m living in a world that’s politically correct
If there’s anything more dull than that, well I ain’t seen it yet
All the colorful words that we once used, now have all been banned
This political correctness, Lord, has gotten out of hand.

Don’t call a person fat, just say that they’re big boned
Residentially uncertain for the ones without a home
Don’t use the word clumsy, say highly uncoordinated
Don’t call a person dumb, say uniquely educated.

Well, don’t say prostitute, now that’s highly disrespectful
Lady of the evening’s more socially acceptable
Don’t use the word stripper, say exotic dancer
It’s not incorrect, just an alternative answer.

(Repeat Chorus – 1)

Don’t use the word gang, say youth group instead
Living impaired when referring to the dead
And don’t say Merry Christmas, say Happy Holiday
Alternative lifestyle, instead of just plain gay.

Don’t use the word Redskin unless you’re quarter Cherokee
Instead of Wetback, now say Latino refugee
And don’t say a man is lazy just ‘cause he ain’t workin’
Don’t call someone a midget, just say little person.

(Chorus – 2)
‘Cause we’re living in a world that’s politically correct
From the color of my skin to the shade of my redneck
We’ve all become so tolerant, why there’s nothing we can’t stand
This political correctness, Lord, has gotten out of hand.

Don’t talk about the Irish how they love to drink their booze
Don’t make fun of the Pollocks or trash talk about the Jews
Black, white, red, and green, to me, it’s all the same
But if we can’t laugh at each other, I believe we’ll go insane.

I grew up in a time where good art was admired
We had films like Blazing Saddles and guys like Richard Pryor
Now they’re crackin’ down on things like that and I’ve had a gutful of it
That’s why I wrote this song so I could tell ‘em where to shove it.

(Repeat Chorus - 1)

This political correctness, Lord, has gotten out of hand.
