Here In The City
Verse 1 I come from the woods, lived by a stream.
Came to the city, to live out my dreams.
Never thought I would see the things I’d seen.
I guess they do things different, here in the city.
Verse 2 People are always reaching out with their hands.
Looking for help, but I don’t understand.
How could anyone, end up that way.
I guess they do things different, here in the city.
Bridge Traffic lights and traffic jams,
I no longer know who I am.
People to the left, people to the right.
Still all alone all through the night.
Verse 3 Ads of three letters each one’s the same.
Girls on the street, don’t need to know my name.
They say that they are here to fulfill a fantasy.
I guess they do things different, here in the city.
Solo
Bridge Traffic lights and traffic jams,
I no longer know who I am.
People to the left, people to the right.
Still all alone all through the night.
Verse 4 Little kids are playing out in the streets.
What you don’t know one of them is packing heat.
Games that children play are not what it seems.
I guess they do things different, here in the city.
I guess they do things different, here in the city.
I guess they do things different.
Do things a little strange.
I guess they do things different, here in the city.
