Blue Ford
Blue Ford

Well we hit the road in my little Blue Ford we were doin’ about fifty five
When my Baby turned around and to my surprise said “Honey I want to drive”
She took the whee, tyres began to squeal and we spun around on the road
And we headed off like a streak of Blue Ligntnin’ with the engine in overload

And I wish my Baby hadn’t driven my car
I wish my Baby hadn’t driven my car
She put the pedal to the metal and headed for the nearest bar
By the time she was finished she’d already gone too far

Well on down the road a couple of miles I could tell that something was wrong
When she pulled off into that Bar and said “Honey I won’t be long”
My Baby sat there at that bar she was drinkin’ everything in sight
When I tried to get on my barstool my baby started pickin a fight

And I wish my Baby hadn’t driven my car
I wish my Baby hadn’t driven my car
She put the pedal to the metal and headed for the nearest bar
By the time she was finished she’d already gone too far

Well that was ten years ago today and now I’m doing just fine
And sometimes I can’t help thinking about that old Blue Ford of mine
I miss my Baby yes it’s true and I think about her night and day
But I’ll never forgive what she did to me when she took my car away

And I wish my Baby hadn’t driven my car
I wish my Baby hadn’t driven my car
She put the pedal to the metal and headed for the nearest bar
By the time she was finished she’d already gone too far
