Biography
Among other things, I'm a songwriter, singer, fiddler and session musician. I've recorded with Fiddlin' Frenchie Burke, Johnny Bush, Brian Collins, Randy Cornor, Kenny Dale, Curtis Potter and others.

I spent a number of years on the road, playing fiddle for Frenchie Burke and fiddling and fronting The Bandoleros, the great dance band of the legendary Johnny Bush. The experience gave me the opportunity to play with many of my heroes, including Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Hank Thompson and Bob Wills' Original Texas Playboys. Along the way, I recorded three regional releases that received significant airplay in Texas and Louisiana: "When It's Over" (Checkmate), "Alive and Well" (AV) and "Every Time You Lied" (Delta). Also, my songs have been recorded by Johnny Bush, Brian Collins, Randy Cornor, Kenny Dale and Curtis Potter. But basically, I've been a sideman. In other words, the guy standing behind the guy in the cowboy hat.

All that, as they say, was back in the day. Nowadays, I'm writing new songs and performing to a new generation. The crowds keep looking younger, but I realize it's only me getting older. Hard to swallow, but it keeps me on my toes. Frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way. And it's proof that regardless of age, a musician has to earn each new fan the same old way: by playing something worth hearing. Solomon said that a man diligent in his business would stand before kings. It's still true.

I've recorded a new album of originals, including two gospel tunes co-written by Velda Harriss, my bride of thirty-two years. Naturally, I want you to buy my CD, but most of all, I want you to like it. Call me old-fashioned. Pleasing the audience still matters to me.

"Radio Creds" are votes awarded to artists by radio programmers who have downloaded their music and have been impressed with the artist's professionalism and the audience's response to the new music. Creds help artists advance through the AirPlay Direct community.

Only radio accounts may add a Radio Cred. One week after the track has been downloaded the radio account member will receive an email requesting a Cred for each artist they've downloaded.
