Jimmy Charles is not only making a name for himself nationally as a country music star in the making and philanthropist creating music that makes a difference, but making a splash in his home state of Maryland referencing all the things that scream Maryland pride.

When asking Charles his inspiration in writing this hit with Scott Barrier, Nashville songwriter with Maryland roots, he explained, “There are so many things that are beautiful and unique to Maryland that have made me the person I am today. I wanted to capture it all and create a timeless tradition for fellow Marylanders to sing along to.”

Delivering lyrics like:

“Crushin crushes on the dock at a harborside bar, day drinking in the sun or underneath the stars.”

“You can catch the Ravens at the Bank and the Birds in the Yard, Ole Fort McHenry still standing guard.” &

“We put old bay on everything!”

Charles captivates listeners with imagery of "it's a Maryland thing."

Charles cleverly breaks out into the national anthem in the song following the popular O’s chant which gained the attention of his favorite baseball team. The Baltimore Orioles just recently added the song to their game day playlist and have asked Charles to lead game day July 8th singing the National Anthem and performing after the fireworks in his beloved Camden Yards. “Singing the National Anthem and performing in Camden yards has always been a dream of mine,” says Charles. One of his dreams, among many others, is coming true with this song.

There is no doubt you will be hearing more about this catchy anthem and find yourself engulfed in the song wanting to visit the state that takes so much pride in their flag.
