"Decisions is a kickass blues album."
- J.R. Miller with High Note Reviews, July 2017

"Fret board aficionados, tone junkies and fans of hot stove blues guitar will be glad to hear the return of Seattle guitarist Jim Allchin... Allchin that rips like Gary Moore... This is quite an album; the stuff dreams are made of."
– Rick Bowen, Blues Writer award 2013-2017, May 2017

"Wonderfully hard hitting stuff that doesn't quit. ...Well done."
- Midwest Record Review, June 2017

"Seattle super guitar player Jim Allchin has a new CD out called “DECISIONS.” Your next decision should be how soon as I going to get a copy? I doubt you can play as good as he can, so you might as well just sit down and listen. Jim’s voice is a perfect reflection of his music, and his music is fabulous! This is his third solo album and every one of them is better than the last. Jim’s guitar skills are simply remarkable! His songwriting comes from the soul, and from life lessons he’s learned. This CD just has no weak spots. This is a top-flight CD. Jim’s guitar work is unbelievable. From slow blues, to boogie, to scorching, you can’t do this riffs, Jim gets to speak his mind musically and we’re all better off for it. If you decide to hear some great music, here it is. Jim Allchin – “DECISIONS.” Can’t go wrong. You’ll be surprised!"
– Smoky Mountain Blues Society, June 2017

"I just had the opportunity to review the most recent release, Decisions, from Jim Allchin and his records just keep getting better. Allchin's first two releases garnered strong review but I believe that this one is his best yet."
– Bmans Blues Report, July 2017

"...a well done album with nice guitar, good vocals, and great backing support. I've heard Allchin's prior two albums and this seems to be the biggest and best. He offers a variety of styles and approaches along with well-crafted songs. I enjoyed the album and those who like their blues with a big rock flare and contemporary sound will love this one too."
- Steve Jones, Crossroads Blues Society, July 2017

"Allchin is impressive as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist."
- Richard Ludmerer, Making A Scene, June 2017

"Jim Allchin reminds us that the choices we make in life–good, bad, or ugly–all define who we are and how we function in today’s society. The fact that he does it with a fine flair for contemporary blues makes the “Decisions” to enjoy this set a no-brainer!!"
- Sheryl and Don Crow, The Nashville Blues Society

"I remember hearing his album Overclocked a number of years ago and being blown away. Life’s still the same. His new one (Decisions) blows me away too. There used to be an old cartoon in which all of the would-be-musicians are standing in front of the stage watching a guitarist and every one of them saying “I could do that.” The difference between them and Allchin is that he could. And does. "
- Frank Gutch Review, June 2017

"Jim Allchin is a fine player, maybe one of the best. By resuming his musical career later in life than many, he’s accumulated many more life experiences from which to draw. What he’s done on Decisions is take everyday things and boil them down to the decisions we make. What is their outcome? When I was a math student, I loved decision trees. Allchin has made them into music and I really like what I’ve heard. If you find yourself intrigued by this fascinating man, be sure to visit his website, https://www.jimallchin.com/, and look at his previous work as well as everything else he has posted. You just might find a new favorite artist. "
- Professor Johnny P's Juke Joint Review, June 2017

"This is an album to savour and with every listen there is more to discover such is the complexity of the sound and the layers of the tapestry. Vocally Allchin has again impressed as his vocals have become stronger and stronger with more and more live shows under his belt. One thing for sure is that anybody who happens to take you for just another guitar slinger will find that they are horribly wrong as you can match it with the very best of the best. For me this album was all highlights and l could not find a lowlight. There was no filler here, just a great album of Blues, Blues/Rock, Rock/Blues, Blues/Pop and Country/Blues."
- Peter Merrett, PBS Melbourne, Australia, June 2017
