On a Dublin Street - BMI
On A Dublin Street
Here on a Dublin street
You sell your poems to people you meet
And they love to be there with you
I can feel the love shining through
They love you for who you are
On the sidewalk there’s no star
And though thousands here know you
You’re always right here where you are
On a Dublin street
Uncle Pat tell me stories
Of how you’re just like me
Uncle Pat I am listening
I hear my own heart beating
Through time, across oceans
Woven thin genetic code
All the love of some ancestors
Meeting deep inside my soul
On this Dublin street
It’s not so different how we say it
What we feel we both know
You with your poetry in Dublin
And me back home on my piano
Uncle Pat
Not just words upon a page
I was there face to face
Like a song I can’t stop singing
In my heart it keeps on ringing
This Dublin street
It’s not so different how we say it
What we feel we both know
You with your poetry in Dublin
And me back home on my piano
Uncle Pat
