11 Take It Slow
Take it Slow - by Jeff Mamett

(V) Five years old Grandpa took me fishing - walking down an old dirt road
I felt like running - but he held my hand - Grandpa liked to stroll
He would stop and smell the flowers - I thought we’d never make the fishing hole
He said - Son, this day won’t ever come again - Let’s just take it slow

(Ch)Take it slow - Easy as you go - there’s a natural flow - when you take it slow

(V) The day I saw the girl I’d marry - I knew she was the one
I tried to think of what I’d do - to win her for my own
She was in no hurry - She said love needs time to grow
the sweetest fruit ripens on the vine - so let’s just take it slow

(Ch)Take it slow - Easy as you go - there’s a natural flow - when you take it slow
You’ll end up where you’re going - the story will unfold
You’ll get to smell the roses, when you take it slow

(V) When I’m feeling anxious - I count the blessings I’ve been shown
Giving thanks - I know I’ve reaped - much more than I’ve sown
Grandpa’s words come back to me from that day so long ago
We’ll never see this day again - lets just take it slow

(Ch)Take it slow - Easy as you go - there’s a natural flow - when you take it slow
You’ll end up where you’re going - the story will unfold
You’ll get to smell the roses too, when you take it slow
