07 Same Old Moon
Same Old Moon - by Jeff Mamett

(V) Neon buzzin’ in the motel sign, there’s a million stars in the Texas sky.
I hear my boots on the gravel while a distant engine whines
East on the prairie, I see the glow rising, its a big butterball, the old man’s smiling
he’s been riding that trail since time began - he’s doin’ it all again.

(Ch) Same old moon, Same old moon, it’s the same Same old moon, Same old moon

(V) The Night moth’s circling the phone booth light. I wish that I could fly.
I dig for change and words to bridge the miles.
The phone is ringing - I pray you’re home, I’ve been so gone for so long.
My hearts up there reaching out for you. Can you see it too?

(Ch) Same old moon, Same old moon, Shining down on me, Shining down on you.

(Br) That watched us hold each other tight and heard the vows we prayed -
shining bright in both our eyes - now we’re half a world away.
