The Southside Lives
Key of C. Jeff Dale: Guitar and Vocals, Jeff Stone: Harmonica

Jeff Dale says:
in 2011, Jeff Stone and I secured a gig at a church in Jeffery Manor, our old neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. He and I had a rough go of being teenagers when, along with our closest friends, we were scattered all over Chicagoland due to the upheaval of the late ‘60s and white flight. This gig was a return to our roots – where we started playing music, where we first heard the blues. This song is about the deep connection we still have for this little slice of the south side, and we performed it at that gig for the first time. What you hear on the record is Jeff and I sitting across from each other in a studio in Chicago – one take!
