Like Jerry Lee

The song is the truth. I’ve been compared to him for everything from my wavy blond hair, high-energy boogie-woogie, to my boots sweeping across the keys. While I hold Jerry Lee Lewis in high regard and certainly mean no insults to him with this song, I want people to know that my influences and instincts run much deeper than the Killer. The piano greats like Booker T Lowery, Memphis Slim, Pete Johnson, Count Basie, Moon Mulligan played as significant a role in my piano playing as Jerry Lee Lewis, they just weren’t as widely known to draw comparison from.
