Sweet 'n' Low
Australian Bluesman Ivor S.K., now based in New Orleans, releases new single ‘Sweet ‘n’ Low’ on Friday July 8th. ‘Sweet ‘n’ Low’ is the lead single off of the upcoming album from Ivor S.K., Mississippi Bound. A slice of bouncing rhythm and blues, Ivor says of the song;

“Sweet ‘n’ Low is a tune that’s been kicking around for four or five years. I had to chase some of the chords and the feel of the tune for a while, and let it slowly pick up steam in the subconscious. It started life as a borderline Texas shuffle when I first got it down, band and all. Then as I slowly began to pull at the layers and strip it back, it showed its true colours and started to cook with more of a southern soul/r&b flavour. Once the handclaps and tambourine usurped the kit the groove really started to float, and it all came together as a celebration of good times in the Big Easy.”

Since the release of his highly acclaimed album Montserrat back in ’17 Ivor S.K. ventured from his hometown of Sydney Australia to conquer the blues heartland of deep south USA. After five years spent playing the revered rooms of the Crescent City, the jumping jukes of the Delta and the seaside shacks of the Gulf - “Sweet ‘n’ Low’ arrives as the first fruits of those labors, and a sly ode to one of America’s favorite pick me ups. His stripped back simplicity combined with superb instrumentation let his smoky, sultry vocals reign on ‘Sweet ‘N’ Low’.
