Cemetery Wine
Cemetery Wine

How am I? I’m doin’ fine drinkin’ cemetery wine
Out here where everything is quite I can sit and sooth my mind
My poor hear weighs a ton my hand heavy on my gun
I’ve walked down every street in this old town just thinkin’ what I’ve done

You were gone without a trace like an echo lost in space
Or like the walls of our old country home now gone and laid to waste
My mind is runnin’ wild how are you and how’s our child
I can’t remember when the last time was I saw her pretty smile

I stay up till 2 or 3, there ain’t nothin’ on TV
Each day there’s more and more of you inside, less and less of me
I been drinkin’ every day ever since you went away
You know that everything’s so different now, some things never change

Walk the road and tow the line count the days and keep the time
And find that fearless is force like a forest fire burnin’ in my mind.
