Biography

Heart Shaped Rock was founded by Portland rocker Sheridan Giordano, powerhouse former front-woman of Tribal Iris. The band began in 2005 as a mostly female melodic hard-rock quartet well received by the local music press.

During the first months of its existence HSR struggled to find its identity. Pressures of everyday life and a few personal demons took their toll and brought about big changes.

Tom Hall was asked to join the line up. He brought an ironic mix peaceful demeanor and demonic guitar work to HSR and added a new dimension to the sound.

HSR went through a few drummers before locking onto Sonny "Gunns" Robinson. Sonny walked on stage at a show in Portland, asked to join the band, effectively giving HSR the strong rhythmic backbone it needed.

Sheridan enlisted the aid of her husband Pete Giordano, lead singer and guitarist for the wildly popular Twisted Roots. Pete brought distinctive arrangements and depth to the HSR sound.
Though the band was growing more and more popular, Sheridan herself was besieged with personal challenges. Losing her father and her brother in rather short order was too much for her to take. After much time spent in hospitals and much personal debate, she decided to call it quits.

But that's where it gets interesting... just as she shut the door on Heart Shaped Rock, Sheridan receives a call from former Tribal Iris bassist Pete Chaisson... whom she hasn't heard from in ten years. He tells her that he and producer Shannon Wallace are in the process of mixing and finishing the never-released Tribal Iris album. Chaisson released Tribal Iris "S.I.T.E." which attracted attention from fans and industry professionals locally and around the US.

The renewed momentum convinced Sheridan that the last thing she wanted to do was shut down the band. When Chaisson returned to Portland and signed on as bass guitarist, Heart Shaped Rock attacked the scene with renewed vitality. Recording a new album "10.10.10" in short order and shortly thereafter, signing with ZenHill Records.
As of this writing HSR has just released a new single "Karma" and is in preproduction for a new album and a modest US tour. Updates to come.
