Spanish Is the Loving Tongue

A wonderful, lyrical ballad of a cross-border romance, based on a poem written in 1907 by the cowboy poet Charles Badger Clark. This is another song that’s been covered numerous times through the years, but with a new approach. The great British guitarist, Martin Simpson, was visiting us from England, so it was a perfect opportunity to entice him into the studio to play his wonderful slide guitar behind me. Abby Newton’s cello added just the right amount of romance to this lovely story.
