I Ain't Got No Home
Woody turned this old gospel number - originally “I Can’t Feel At Home in this World Anymore,” into a topical song during the Depression. I recorded it on my first album, in 1963, with the New World Singers. By reprising it here in a new version, which is part Woody and part Merle Travis, I like to think it shows a little musical maturation on my part. Interestingly, the words ring almost as true today as they did when they were first written in 1938, the year of my birth.
