Things Are Coming My Way
This wonderfully optimistic song is originally from the singing of the great Bessie Jones of the Georgia Sea Islands, but I learned it from my good friend, Marcy Marxer. (It’s the title track of one of her excellent CDs.) I like to think that I put my own stamp on it here, making it into a rollicking, uptempo piece with lots of hot picking. Larry’s driving mandolin and Byron’s impeccable timing on the bass helped me keep it on track. This one makes for a great sing-along at my live shows.
