2. JUST ALONG FOR THE RIDE

We needed an uptempo song for the record, and this one was composed to fill that void. I wish folks could see our writing sessions; it’s always a good time and usually an easy trip to a song. I’ll never understand how Steve can sing this high!

I’m cruisin’, blowin” down the highway, Glad I did it my way
Let my heart be the guide

I need to quit listening to myself, let the heart take control
Turn off these voices in my head, start listening to my soul

It’s all about changing in my life, come what may can’t stay still
This race wasn’t made to be won, and I know I never will

I’ve never been the rambling kind, always dreamed of being free
Some people say I’ve lost my mind, But that don’t bother me

No matter where I land, I’ll be satisfied
Life’s too short, I don’t care about my pride
