I thought I saw you on the street today
I rushed to see you but you turned away
I only wanted just to see your face
and I was hoping for a warm embrace

our little secrets and the things we did
we took the path and there was no return
the bridge we burnt but what a lesson learned

no need to tell you that you broke my heart
i was so lonely when we were apart
but that void was deep inside of you

I often wonder can we still be friends
they say she's better than I'll ever be
She loves you so and that she sets you free
I hope to see you when were old and gray
