Biography
Garden of Sanity is a New Zealand rock band formed in July 2012 by John Foubister and Bevan Mathews. The duo have been creating music together since 1998
Garden of Sanity now has a significant number of songs ready to record and release. Their debut song “Spellbound” includes bass player Ben King of Golden Horse and Grand Rapids, drummer Will Scott of Solarosa, Grand Rapids and Formerly Anika Moa
Spellbound was recorded in 2012 at York Street Studio in Auckland, New Zealand’s premium studio. Hayden Taylor was the recording engineer who also mixed and mastered the song, He has worked with many successful artists including Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas
Garden of Sanity has already begun recording their next song with Hayden at York Street Studio which also includes, John, Bevan, Will and Ben. Garden of Sanity’s next song is called “Broken Man” and its due for release early 2013
Influences
Bevan’s music style has been heavily influenced by Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Pearl Jam, Ronnie James Dio and Ozzy Osborne. Many say Bevan’s vocal sound is comparable to Ozzy Osborne
John’s influences also include Ozzy Osborne as well as Lita Ford, The Cult, Noise Works and The Angles. Johns palm muting rhythm has evolved from a blend of The Angles and other influences
