“BRING THE LOVE BACK HOME”
“Bring the Love Back Home” represents the voices of all those who have love- ones separated by distance and time. For example, love ones have been separated by school, work, hospital confinement, military duty, incarceration and the like. The message of this song reminds us to keep a positive attitude and remain hopeful that one day, our love-ones will “Bring the Love Back Home!”

It is interesting to notice how this song developed. “Bring the Love Back Home” was originally recorded in Stavanger Norway. Later, Lee Young, a retired musician and consultant, also the original drummer for the legendary Nat King Cole Trio, also vice president of Motown Records, heard the original recording and suggested that it should be re-recorded for release in the USA. Meanwhile, Mr. Young claimed “Bring the Love Back Home” as his favorite song. Now, emotionally attached to the song, Mr. Young insisted that it should be recorded again, identical to the original which was recorded earlier in Norway.

A few years later, the updated version was successfully completed, according to Mr. Young’s specifications. Two major changes included a new opening and a new finale.

Shortly after these final changes were made and approved by Mr. Young,I received the sad news of his passing. Just as his recommendations and advice to with Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie and other Motown artists were accurate, Mr. Young’s suggestions for this song were right on target! Without a doubt, his spirit will live forever in this song!

Musicians heard on “Bring the Love…” include some of America’s finest and most talented;

Bobby Franklin (drummer) is a true musical genius who can also be heard on recordings by the famous Drifters, and on recordings with the late and great music legend, Curtis Mayfield.

Fred Huston (bassist) is a multi-talented musician musical genius, who played and directed the mid -70s chart topping group, “The Floaters.” Later, he also traveled and played with Marvin Gaye.

Maruga Booker (percussion & drums) recorded with a number of other recording artists, including George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic group. Mr. Booker’s creativity is displayed at the opening of the song.

Derek Holloway (guitar) added a special touch to the flavor to this song with his characteristic unique and soulful style. His well- placed chords and arpeggios are remarkably moving.

Miguel Chacon (Congas) contributed to the feel with his characteristic smooth rhythmic motifs.

Eddie Robinson Gm (grand piano, synthesizers & percussions) provided a basic foundation for the song with well- placed piano licks that helped guide the direction of the arrangement.

“Bring The Love Back Home” is a symbolic reminder that, love may be separated by time, distance or circumstances, but it as long as there is hope, love will survive.
