“The Best (In You)” is an original song that speaks of giving a priceless gift that money can't buy. There are 'gifts' and there are ‘great gifts.’ The greatest gift is a gift from the heart, without expectation or concern for what will be given in return.

There are ‘good songs’ and ‘great songs.’ A good song is ‘good’ while it is popular. When the popularity of a ‘good’ song fades, the song also fades. On the other hand, a ‘great song’ is the result of ‘great’ qualities, including an ageless universal message that speaks to the heart. In 'great music,' the song’s melody, lyrics, arrangement & performance can remain in the heart forever!

“The Best (In You)” is a ‘great song’ a smooth ballad with a gentle South American Samba sway that is perfectly blended with the smooth velvet voice of Eddie Gm. “The Best (in You)” is an example of how the chemistry of this group of international musicians gave their best performance, straight from the heart.

Simone Vitale, acoustic guitarist, is a remarkably skillful musician and big band leader. Simone, also nephew of the legendary musician Paul Desmond, performed with former United States President, Bill Clinton.

Obed Succari, a master percussionist from Panama, also recorded with Oscar & Grammy winning producer Luis Resto. Obed is also a protégé of great legendary Latino percussionists, Giovanni Hildalgo, Roberto El Afrokan Izquierdo and Tata Guines.

The silky smooth saxophone, featured throughout the song, is masterfully played by the great meistro, Al Jones. Artistically, and spiritually, Al’s performance with Eddie and the musicians on “The Best” is the defining example of what is meant by “perfect chemistry.” The relationship between the sax and Eddie Gm’s vocals was so harmonized until the connection seemed genetic. Words cannot describe the highly spiritualistic chemistry between Eddie and Al. Jerry Jones, brother of AL, was a remarkably versatile drummer who played with Jazz guitarist George Benson. Like Jerry, Al was equally comfortable playing Jazz greats as he was playing for popular R&B groups, The Temptations and Dramatics. Unfortunately, Al did not have the chance to hear the final version of “The Best (In You).” He passed away while the song was being finally mixed. Still, on this, his final recording, Al Jones left a memory of his greatness, his signature in sound. No question about it, he gave his best.

Singer, pianist, Eddie Gm, also composer & arranger of “The Best,” is also a product of Jazz, Classical and Gospel. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe, Scandinavia, Africa, Turkey, and the Far East, Ed is recognized for his masterful vocal interpretations of great standards by such legendary writers as George & Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Sammy Cahn, Burt Bacharach, and the like. Anyone capable of recognizing the greatness in voices like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Tony Bennett, will be able to identify the greatness in this modern day standard, “The Best (In You),” is the performance of a truly ‘great song.’
