Silver Bells
7. Silver Bells – Lyrics and Melody by Jay Livingston & Ray Evans

Nancy grew up in a family bluegrass bands in the Missouri Ozarks, and this was a favorite song she used to sing at Christmas time with her sister, Susan. It was also in the regular repertoire of The Dickens Carolers and The Coventry Carolers. Playing the hammered dulcimer uses a specific part of Nancy’s brain that makes it extremely difficult for her to speak or sing while playing the instrument…except for this song! This is the only hammered dulcimer song, to date, that she can sing and play at the same time. You’ll hear the instrumental version here, but ask her to sing it the next time you hear them play live.
