Coventry Carol
2. Coventry Carol – Robert Croo (1534 - ?)/lyrics & Traditional English melody 1591/melody

This haunting, contemplative melody was written as a lullaby for the Christ child. In addition to Dulcimer Dance, we sing soprano and also in a strolling, a cappella quartet in Victorian costume called The Coventry Carolers, named after this song. Nancy got the idea for the Coventry Carolers, who first performed in Branson, MO in 1990, from The Dickens Carolers in Kansas City—a group her late sister, Susan Cardwell Houlihan sang with.
