Working with producers Michael Sykes (Winner of more than a dozen GMA Dove Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, Restless Heart, The Oak Ridge Boys, Michael English, Dottie Rambo, Gaither Vocal Band, Russ Taff) Producer Gary "Bud" Smith (Tim McGraw, Randy Travis, Faith Hill, Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs, John Anderson, Patty Loveless, Barbara Mandrell) and Dr. Steve Allen (George Jones, Cathedral Quartet, Michael English, Vestal Goodman, The Issacs, Bill Gaither, Mark Lowry, and Bob Carlisle) DOWN HOME takes a brave step forward lyrically as well as stylistically blending genres in such a way that it cultivates an all-inclusive, sophisticated, authentic style best summed up as "PEOPLE MUSIC".

Living on a farm just outside Nashville TN keeps DOWN HOME'S feet in the dirt and their focus clear. Both Mac and Sharon come from generations of farm families that made their living from the dirt. Their faith and family values are deep-seated in the legacy of families who had to work together to survive. Mac and Sharon’s children, Michael and AnnMarie know what it means to work hard, love their country, respect people around them and most of all, love and protect their family. In recording their sophomore album, FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING, DOWN HOME FAMILY traveled past the surface and moved right to the heart of issues that have challenged and molded who they are as a family. “We were born out of the dirt and we're going to leave this life dirty, there’s no escaping that” says Mac.
