Crockett's Fiddle
written by Doug Moreland, ASCAP (composer/author and publisher)
Doug was asked to contribute to the first live recording held inside the Alamo, for an album focused on Davy Crockett. So, as a typical procrastinator, he wrote this song on the Sunday of the recording just before he drove to San Antonio to record it! As he walked around the Alamo grounds that evening practicing his newly written fiddle tune, it was a bit eerie hearing the echoes of it. The original recording turned out great, and the song proved to be a hit with his crowds, so he made his own recording to include here in this album. In this song, he sings and plays fiddle simultaneously, which he also mastered on that same day he wrote it!
