Baja Holiday
BAJA HOLIDAY
written by Doug Moreland, ASCAP (composer/author and publisher)

Wasting away for seven days
Crashing through the waves
Sailing away from yesterday
On my Baja Holiday

Someone’s singing Boat Drinks
Can’t a fella bring me some rum?
Maybe with a little coke, I think
And an umbrella to shade it from the sun
It wasn’t three days ago I was headed west
Just one thought on my mind
Advice to myself, my vices know best
Leave your worries in Texas behind

Wasting away for seven days
Crashing through the waves
Sailing away from yesterday
On my Baja Holiday

Someone says, “Cabo, next port of call.”
Man, I love that part of Mexico
But you gotta stand before you can walk
I guess I’ll just stay here on a boat
It wasn’t three days ago I was lower than I’ve been
I knew a vacation was coming someday
You say, “How can a man take time off
When he ain’t got a job anyway?”

Wasting away for seven days
Crashing through the waves
Sailing away from yesterday
On my Baja Holiday

I have no one to send a postcard to
So I sent one to myself
It says, “You’re drunk in Mexico
Ha-ha. Love, yourself.”

Wasting away for seven days
Crashing through the waves
Sailing away from yesterday
On my Baja Holiday
