End Of The Trail
END OF THE TRAIL
written by Doug Moreland, ASCAP and Matt Skinner, ASCAP and Dub Miller, BMI

There’ll be peace at the end of the trail
Knee high grass and gently rolling hills
Bright blue skies and on the breeze are songs of whippoorwills
There’ll be peace at the end of the trail

No more mending fences, no more pitching hay
No more getting up before the break of day
I can hear the master calling St. Peter get the gate
There’ll be peace at the end of the trail

All the cattle are branded and the day’s work’s always done
We’re still buckin’ horses but mostly just for fun
And the Cookie’s got the grub on and the boss man’s paid the bills
There’ll be peace at the end of the trail

There’ll be peace at the end of the trail
Knee high grass and gently rolling hills
Bright blue skies and on the breeze are songs of whippoorwills
There’ll be peace at the end of the trail
