The Tortilla
THE TORTILLA
written by Doug Moreland, ASCAP (composer/author and publisher)
I seen the King of Western Swing in a homemade tortilla
Took it as a sign I didn’t need to be here
I’m gonna lose the bunkhouse blues, choking me like a noose
I wanna hear sawdust between hardwood floors and boots
I long to be in Cowtown
A dream of this broke down cowboy
Working for beans and bread
There’s his hat and his cigar, cooked there by the griddle
I already took a bite so he’s missin’ a little fiddle
Just like me, I long to hear a bow hit the strings
And the touch of a woman why that’s heaven to me
I long to be in Cowtown
A dream of this broke down cowboy
Working for beans and bread
I long to be in Cowtown
A dream of this broke down cowboy
Working for beans and bread
