DEANO GRAHAM SHARES “I Want To Grow Old With You” from the GRASSVILLE project
Introduction:
The Bishop of Bluegrass has ventured into the world of traditional bluegrass after two stellar all-gospel recordings (2021 & 2022). Presenting soul-stirring “smooth as butter” vocals, clever and entertaining lyrics, and sizzling instrumentation, Deano Graham is delivering music that people really can relate to.
“I Want To Grow Old With You” is co-written with Nashville’s own James Payne who has 89, recorded number 1 songs to his credit.
The Story Behind The Song:
“I Want To Grow Old With You” is a love song ballad in 3/4 time, written by Deano Graham and James Payne. The song is written for, and dedicated to Deano’s wife Kim, as a 36th wedding anniversary gift. While the lyrics feature a bit of “poetic licensing” using examples that really didn’t take place, the song remains true in spirit, and is a testimony of an undying love between two people.
Close your eyes and imagine Vince Gill singing this to his wife Amy… and you will see just how similar the sound is. From the opening song lyric “I loved you back then… I love you more now”, I Want To Grow Old With You will easily become a staple song for weddings and renewal of vows. Anyone new in a relationship, or those celebrating 50 plus years together will immediately fall in love all over again after just one listen.
Featuring the musical wizardry of notable Nashville musicians including Andy Leftwich (fiddle and mandolin), Wanda Vick Burchfield (dobro and banjo), Shaun Richardson (acoustic guitar), Mark Burchfield (upright bass), and Victoria Burchfield and Deano Graham (background vocals).
GRASSVILLE is Deano Graham’s third studio album on the Blue Oceans Music label, and is due for release on June 23rd. Pre-order is available now.
