Stuck Inside New Jersey
Stuck Inside New Jersey
By David Kleiner

So many so many
Cars roll through my mind the wheels I left behind
So many so many
Bridges I have crossed don’t tell me that I’m lost
I’m home
so I must know where I’m going
My anxiety is growing
But here I am
Stuck inside New Jersey

So many so many
Municipalities how can we find peace
So many so many
People everywhere no room to comb your hair
I’m stuck
Like a lamb upon a skewer
I’m a thinker not a doer
So here I am
Stuck inside New Jersey

Liz: Blueberries and ice cream
Summers by the pond
And when the summer’s gone
I’m waiting for the bus with a soggy paper bag

So many so many
Boulders on the hill tomatoes on the sill
So many so many
Times that I have tried to take a one-way ride
I’m back
Like a boomerang or yo-yo
There’s no place I can go so
Here I am
Stuck inside New Jersey
