My Kind of Misery
“I was having some sort of life crisis and wanted out of the brutal Tahoe winters. I had been to Austin once and liked it, and liked the fact that much of my favorite outlaw music came from there. I decided to move there for a change. Problem was, I was 39 and not in a good place in my head. Everybody is currently moving to Austin and the traffic is horrendous. Also, lots of the nostalgic stuff was being replaced by development. I drank heavily and couldn’t find work. Soon I longed for home and moved back to Tahoe. But it wasn’t a failure. I had to get the experience, the information about what I didn’t really want to do. Best of all, I made a couple lifelong friends. This is the story one one of them.” - Darren Senn
