MUSIC VIDEO - IN THE PINES
Danny is a Professional Musician, Writer, and Producer who sings Bluegrass, Americana, and Country music with hints of blues.
Born in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky just miles from Bill Monroe's home place, he grew up in a musical family who enjoyed singing and playing "Real Music". Music that was built on the hard times and stories of real life.
Danny was born in Central City, Ky, and grew up in a shotgun house in Martwick. Hwy 62 runs east out of the Martwick area, towards the Green River, crossing into Ohio County just 30 miles or so from the Bill Monroe Homestead in Rosine Ky. Merle Travis was a cousin of Danny's grandfather, Hazel Joines who played local dances with Merle in the early years. Mose Rager, who was an influential figure in the development of Merle's Guitar playing, also attended church with Danny's family on many occasions at the Shegog Holiness Church there in Central City. Danny's father was an accomplished musician as was his mother, both playing and singing in the local church on a regular basis, and taught Danny to play several instruments as well as to sing. At the age of sixteen Danny began taking fiddle lessons from Bob Bethel the "Fiddlin Barber" in Greenville Ky and at 24 studied the harmonica under Sherriff "Roadblock McElvain". Danny played the contest circuit for several years winning numerous state championships including the Rough River Championships - Harmonica division, multiple times. Playing locally with numerous bands Danny went on to tour professionally with Cross Country The Band, Southern Gospel Quartet - Masters Voice, and for the past 6 years as Producer and Band Leader playing Fiddle and Harmonica with Christian Davis. During this time John Schneider (Bo Duke) joined the tour using the Christain Davis Band as his band so Danny played for John for about 2 years. When the Covid Pandemic stalled out touring and the music industry came to a standstill, Danny released his first solo single to radio and charted for 2 weeks in the top 20 of the Bluegrass Today Charts called "There's A High Lonesome Sound Coming From Jerusalem Ridge, a song Danny wrote about the ghost of Bill Monroe.

Quotes:
"I'm a sucker for songs about bluegrass music and this is a good one. Not only does it pay tribute to traditional bluegrass, but also, with a touch of humor, it pays homage to the father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe. It's a dandy."
Bob Mitchell, DJ (Host of "Best of Bluegrass")
Four-Time Nominee for "Bluegrass DJ of the Year" (SPBGMA 2017 -18 – 19 - 20)
Lifetime Member: The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum
"I really dig the new single "There's a High Lonesome Sound" telling the story of the Father of Bluegrass. I enjoyed watching the fun video filmed on the grounds of Mr. Bill's old home place. It all started with this man and his powerful vision so long ago. Way to go Danny!"
Buddy Meriam, Bluegrass Time Radio WUSB FM 90.1
"Great song! Cool video"
