Love Lives Forever
“Love Lives Forever”
By Damian Muller
Verse 1:
That old Fifty Six DeSoto was the first thing we would see
As we turned onto the long and dusty driveway
We’d pass the front door no one used and head around the back
Pop and Grandma standing in the doorway
Verse 2:
There were hugs & kisses all around, they’d tell us how we’ve grown
We’d play out to the woods behind the garden
Pretending we were pioneers in a world all of our own
Til the dinner bell would ring & we’d be called in
CH:
I hold in my heart those childhood memories
My grandparent’s love still lives inside of me
I hope someday to pass it on to grandkids of my own
Love lives forever in our family home.
.
VERSE 3:
Gramma with her snowy hair and checkered apron on
There was always something cooking in the kitchen
Pop would walk around the yard, a tool bag in his hand
With a list of endless things that needed fixin’
CH:
I hold in my heart those childhood memories
My grandparent’s love still lives inside of me
I hope someday to pass it on to grandkids of my own
Love lives forever in our family home.
.
Verse 4:
When the day was ending, we’d have to settle down
The old folks sitting ‘round just reminiscing
In the bedroom down the hall we’d try the best we could
To stay awake and hear all we were missing.
CH:
I hold in my heart those childhood memories
My grandparent’s love still lives inside of me
I hope someday to pass it on to grandkids of my own
Love lives forever in our family home.
