RADIO SINGLE DROPS FOR DALE PERRY’S FIRST SOLO PROJECT
Wilson Pickins Promotions proudly announces the first single available to radio from the solo instrumental project recorded by veteran banjo player and renowned bluegrass musician, Dale Perry.

Shortnin’ Bread, from the album entitled, LIVIN’ THE DREAM, is one of many traditional tunes, hand-picked by Perry to showcase his love and respect for bluegrass, and more specifically, banjo music. This project is very special to Dale and has been on his mind for a long time.

“People have been asking me for years why I haven’t ever released a banjo CD, so I decided it was high time that I did. Besides it being a new project for me to record at our newly reopened Lakeside Recording, I wanted to make something that would live on past me. A legacy to leave for my children and grandchildren to cherish in the future. It was important for me to play good old fashioned tunes which everyone knows, but no one plays anymore. Most everyone will recognize all of the songs on the project, except for one which I wrote, “Shady Cove”.

LIVIN’ THE DREAM seemed like a very natural title for this project. I’ve been blessed beyond measure to be able to play music for a living and have had the opportunity to, and still do, play with some of the best musicians and singers in the business; do some fishing when I can; spend time out on the lake; and truly experience living my dream each day.

Thank you for your support and encouragement through the years. I hope that this CD is one that bluegrass fans will tap their toes to and reminisce with for years to come. ” -Dale Perry

Dale Perry was born in Crum, West Virginia and by age 11 was playing several instruments. His first professional gig was with the band Redwing. In 1985, he joined The Bluegrass Cardinals, lending his impressive bass playing and bass vocal skills to the band. Perry later went on to The Lonesome River Band and then spent 11 years with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, first as the bass player and then moving on to banjo. In 2003, Dale was reunited with David Parmley, joining the Continental Divide and is currently with David now as a member of the revived Cardinal Tradition band.

Dale is also the co-owner of Lakeside Recording Studio with David Parmley, located near his home in Gallatin, TN, and has produced a multitude of projects throughout his bluegrass career.

Radio programmers can now download the new single, Shortnin’ Bread, from LIVIN’ THE DREAM, at AirPlay Direct. The official CD release date is scheduled for April 19th and will be available wherever David Parmley & Cardinal Tradition are performing as well as for download from CD Baby and Itunes.

Dale Perry endorses Wilson Custom Banjos and D’Addario Strings, both of which were used to record this new project.
