Month After Month
Is January really today?
I cannot change whatever you say
Tired of the cold, I’m feeling blasé
Month after month the snow’s here to stay
Staying in bed is the only way
February is a lady I know
She always says I’m movin’ too slow
I hesitate when she says to go
Month after Month she’s tellin’ me so
Girl, you need to be a duo
March is deceiving all of his friends
Can they believe the flowers he sends
Mean what they mean, well, it all depends
Month after month the honeymoon ends
Sleep is the lie he always defends
Month after month is living
Month after month takes time
Minutes are unforgiving
Days take me past my prime
April takes pride in being a tease
One day she’s lovely the next day I sneeze
She’s only fit for the birds and the bees
Month after month I’m begging her please
Springtime is just another warm breeze
May is my husband’s birthday each year
I’m always wrong with his present, I fear
He sees me fret, so I’ll never hear
Month after month, I still persevere
Does it really fit, he tells me, “yes, dear”
Why are there weddings in June every day?
I love a month that gives me away
Writing the words that I have to say
Month after month am I in a play?
Being a wife is really okay
I’m gonna be in love in July
My body tingling gives me a high
Tasting his lips makes me want to fly
Month after month right up to the sky
Careful, those wings can give a black eye
Why is August always this hot?
Giving us things that we haven’t got
Sunburn and don’t forget the age spot
Month after month it seems like a lot
Thinking it’s always something it’s not
Glad it’s September, go back to school
Tell all the kids that you think I’m cool
They’ll be impressed that I’m such a fool
Month after month I lie in the pool
Never thought getting old would be cruel
Month after month is living
Month after month takes time
Minutes are unforgiving
Days take me past my prime
October has a feel that is rare
Costumes that sparkle ask me to dare
Dare to show everyone I don't care
Month after month don't wanna be fair
If I’m alone I don't have to share
Every November I turn a page
Everyone says they can't tell my age
There's a photograph I keep in a cage
Month after month it carries my rage
I'm still a kid while it's an old sage
Without December I think I'd die
Rudolph and Charlie Brown make me cry
Nothing I get is what I would buy
Month after month I ask myself why
When I fall in love he's never the guy
Month after month is living
Month after month takes time
Minutes are unforgiving
Days take me past my prime
