CRAIG MOREAU is a Calgary, Alberta, based Artist who has been on the fringes of the Americana Music scene for years. A former Nashville songwriter, Craig has decided that his songs are best presented in his own voice. He is equally comfortable playing a solo house concert with just his acoustic guitar or with the full backing of his incredible band.
In 2001, Craig released his first record Every Now and Then to glowing reviews and international airplay. After taking some time away from music to raise a family, Craig roared back on to the scene in 2014 with the release of The Daredevil Kid. Having a certain sound in mind, Craig sought out award winning Austin, Texas based producer Mark Hallman for the project. With the help of Kevin Welch, Gurf Morlix, Kimmie Rhodes, Kim Deschamp, Elana James, Ben Tagseth and Andre Moran, he ended up with one fabulous record. The Daredevil Kid went to #1 on the RMR Canadian Album Charts as well as #1 on the RMR Americana Country Charts, garnered Craig a 2015 WCMA nomination for Songwriter of The Year, a 2015 official showcase slot at Folk Alliance International Conference and an invitation to play at John Conquests’ notSXSW showcase in Austin, Texas.
While there, Craig went back to The Congress House Studio and, along with Mark Hallman, recorded some new songs for a new album. Taking his touring band down to Lethbridge, Alberta, Craig recorded a few more songs ‘live off the floor’ at The Rebeltone Ranch Studio with Leeroy Stagger in the producer’s chair. The final product “A Different Kind Of Train” is a co-production between Mark Hallman and Leeroy Stagger.
