Southern Nights

Seems every time I see the news these days.
A woman being beaten or a Childs being raped.
Drinking and driving or a church burnt down these kind of things are all around.

People from the city they don’t understand.
Were not city slickers we are country men.
We don’t need the drugs like some folks do.
We’d rather hunt and fish and mud sling too.
Our women don’t have to be beauty queens.
Were not the kind of guys who care about those things.
I have a problem with the world today.
People killing people for a dollar these days.

Just give me my woman and a four wheel drive.
And we’ll go driving in the southern nights.
Just come on down and leave the city over there and take a ride in the country air.

I’m not talking bad about the city lights.
City folks live their own kind of lives.
I don’t bother you so don’t bother me.
And we’ll get along an that’s the way it should be.
It seems every time I see the news these days.
A woman being beaten or a Childs being raped.
Drinking and driving an a church burned down these kind of things are all around.

Just give me my woman and a four wheel drive.
And we’ll go driving in the southern nights.
Just come on down and leave the city over there and take a ride in the country air.

It seems every time I see the news these days.
A woman being beaten or a Childs being raped.
Drinking and driving an a church burned down these kind of things are all around.
