Jenny & Me
Once time stood still on Indian Hill
The days seemed like they’d never end each summer
Dad would whack the weeds
Mom would make grilled cheese
Then we’d stay up late to watch the stars grow brighter

Jenny & Me
We used to climb the trees
Race each other down the street on our 10-speeds
Jenny & Me
We’d catch the lightning bugs
See who could swing higher, and who could dig to China
Jenny & Me

Then we grew up and tried our luck
In the real world, where everything’s a gamble
So I headed east to Boston
Jenny wound up in Austin
Where we’d stay up late to watch our stars grow brighter

Jenny & Me
We used to climb the trees
Race each other down the street on our 10-speeds
Jenny & Me
We’d catch the lightning bugs
See who could swing higher, and who could dig to China
Jenny & Me

Now Jenny’s settled down in a little Georgia town
Two cats, a dog, and a husband who likes NASCAR
And me, I headed west to LA
Where I’m writing this on the freeway
But still we stay up late and talk about the old days

When Jenny & Me
We used to climb the trees
Race each other down the street on our 10-speeds
Now Jenny & Me
We’re still chasing our dreams
She pushes my swing higher
And I help her pick out china
That’s Jenny & Me
