Biography
Los Angeles singer/songwriter Courtney Leigh Heins blends a mixture of Americana, Country, Folk, Bluegrass and Pop melodies with the stories she has gathered while traveling through all 50 states. She has performed from Anchorage to Austin and Nashville to Ireland, but you're most likely to catch her around the L.A. area. Her three full-length albums "Bright Blue World," "Hot Coffee" and "Refolk," and her EP "Thrift Store Ballads" are currently available on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, CDBaby and various online retailers. Influences include Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Beck, Eddie Vedder, Loretta Lynn, The Jayhawks, Son Volt, Wilco, Kris Kristofferson & Lucinda Williams.
Courtney Leigh Heins, a Hoosier native and Boston College graduate, combines Americana music with compelling stories about life in the Heartland & Hollywood. Courtney has performed in Park City, UT at the 2012 & 2013 Sundance Film Festivals, in Austin, TX at SXSW in 2010 & 2011, the Anchorage Folk Festival and The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN as a part of their Sunday Writers' Night series and Saturday Night In-the-Round. She currently serves as Artistic Ambassador for the Eritaj Foundation's "Visions for a Prosperous Haiti." Locally, she has played in Los Angeles at The Viper Room, El Cid, The Rainbow, Genghis Cohen, Pig'n Whistle & Molly Malone's, where she has opened for I See Hawks in LA and Jes Hudak (Platinum Hit). Courtney also performed live on Park City TV in the round with Adam Gaynor (Matchbox 20), Moi Navarro (The Sing-Off) & Brian Ashley Jones (AMA Top 100).
Courtney's newest album "Bright Blue World" was released at Sundance in January of 2013 and is produced by Jordan Higgins (The Judy Stakee Company) and Bryan Dobbs (Frank Stallone Band). Her 2nd album "Hot Coffee" (now available on Pandora) features Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams, Ray Lamontagne) on guitar. Her music has been featured on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, as well as on Stardust Radio, Whole Wheat Radio, Crooked Sisters Radio Hour and has received airplay on stations as far away as Belgium and Macedonia. She has current publishing deals with Monica Benson (BOK Music) and Janet Fisher (Goodnight Kiss Music) and her song "My Kind of Man" can be found on the "Rhythm of Honor" CD, a song compilation that benefits the Wounded Warriors Fund. She also collaborates with a variety of artists, writers and producers in the genres of Country, Rock, Pop and Hip-Hop for specific TV/Film and Artist uses.
