Cornfields and Crossroads is a high energy band based out of Indianapolis Indiana, that has a long history of entertaining audiences all around the Midwest. We strive to lighten the hearts of music lovers through traditional, contemporary, gospel bluegrass, and even a few originals everywhere we go.
The band is made up of seasoned musicians who have long histories in bluegrass music. Darrell, Dan, Joe, and Mark are playing some of the most exciting, hard driving, and sometimes the softer side bluegrass music in the Midwest. Their distinctive style and enjoyable stage show bring audiences to their feet wherever they go.
Mark Graham plays guitar, and sings most lead in the group. Darrell is the very tall nimble fingered mandolin player for the group. He sings baritone and with a little coaxing will step up to sing a few songs himself. Then there is our bass player Joe Flowers. He is the most active bass player you will ever watch, as he dances, sings, and entertains all night long. Joe is always saying "man its hot in here". but its because he never quits moving! Joe also sings some lead and is the tenor singer for the band. Then there is Dan Wethington, banjo player for the band. He loves the Scruggs style playing as is evident in his high energy instrumentals. His hand floats over the neck as if they never touch the strings.
Cornfields And Crossroads have recorded three cd's in the ten years they have been together. Opened for, and shared the stage with many such greats as, Rhonda Vincent, Dan Paisley, Don Rigsbey, Ralph Stanley, and many more. We have played the world famous Bill Monroe Bluegrass Festival in Bean Blossom Indiana, and have played Bill Monroe's 100th birthday celebration at Jerusalem Ridge. Believe it or not, We have even played for a ballet at the Fords Honeywell Theatre! We still laugh and say that we are sure we were the first hillbillies to set foot in that orchestra pit!
So if you are in the mood for some toe tapping, hard driving bluegrass, come on out and see us at a venue near you!
