Country Johnny Mathis’ contributions to Classic Country Music and Traditional Country are undeniable. You would be hard pressed to find another artist whose credits to the Country Music genre that equal Johnny’s. Although he seemed on the verge many times in his career of that breakout moment of achieving the status of “icon” or “legend”, he developed a cult following of fans that love Classic Country and Traditional Country music. A following that continues to grow each year!
He hit the charts multiple times as an artist, had 10 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees record his music (and many other artists), shared the big stages of the Louisiana Hayride, Grand Ole Opry and other venues, TV shows and performance halls with Legends like George Jones, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Ray Price, Patsy Cline and just about everyone else.
His music lives on as one generation continues to appreciate and remember his body of work and a new generation of Classic Country Music lovers discover ‘Country’ Johnny Mathis. His songs are being used today in documentaries, movies and TV shows like CBS's 'Young Sheldon'.
A 12 song collection of Johnny's recordings was released nationally October 15th, 2013. This collection will contain previously unreleased songs in digital format with several of the songs having never been released. The collection was re-released as the 'My Heart Is On The Paper' album later.
