Somebody told me it was Raining ashes in city.
But they never had to tell me it was you.
With your ruby lip, long fake eyelashes, all liquored up again,
Acting the fool.
Don’t tell me you love me, I’ve nothing in turn.
Except the lessons left on my fingertips and the second degree burns.
From that red cherry tip of your taylor made, hear me cry hear me cry
It’s been raining ashes all night long.

2nd
There’s a big Bad wolf ,knocking at your door.
Don’t you turn your lamp down and act like I’ve never been here before.
Tell that long tall sugar daddy he got to get on up and leave.
There ain’t enough room in your wicked heart for him and me.
I’ve got a pocket full of sin, and a head full of wrong ideas,
Momma let me in.
It’s been raining ashes all night long.

Oooooooo..ooooowooooo
It’s been raining ashes
Oooooooo..oooowooo
It’s been raining ashes all night long
Somebody told me it was Raining ashes in city.
But they never had to tell me it was you.
