Biography
CHRIS CUDA – (GUITAR and COMPOSITION) is a self-taught all-around guitarist. CHRIS CUDA - has recorded and/or performed with David Thomas (Rocket From The Tombs & Pere Ubu), Horns & Things, Sonny Geraci (The Outsiders), Len Berry, Tommy Roe, Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon, Leslie Gore, Billy J. Krammer, The Shangri-La’s, Gilby Clarke (Guns & Roses, MC5, Heart), Michael Cartellone (drummer for Tommy Shaw, Damn Yankees & Lynyrd Skynyrd) Jeckyl & Hyde, Jackie Cooper (O’Jays drummer) Michael Gibbs (session w/orchestrator for Mahavishnu, Jaco, and Peter Gabriel), Dazz, and Beaucoup band members to name a few. Chris’s influences include Julian Bream, John Coltrane, Miles, James Brown, Tony Williams, Yes, Zappa, and 20th century composers.
TONY CUDA – (Bass) Tony Cuda is a schooled musician, writer and bass player. After spending three years at Berklee School of Music in Boston, Tony hit the road with an original fusion band in the early 1980’s. After playing the New England scene for about 5 years, Tony returned to rejoin his brother Chris, eventually co-founding their current group. Tony plays a 1963 fretless Fender Jazz and a fretted Spector bass guitar. His main influences are Weather Report, Yes, King Crimson and Miles Davis.
STEVE RENKO – (Drums) is a musical prodigy, and is one of the most talked about drummers. Besides playing and recording with CuDa/RenKo/CuDa, Steve played drums with the legendary Ernie Krivda’s Big Band, Bad Boys of Blues, and the Tri-C Big Band. Steve is effortlessly able to capture the nuances of Chris’ odd time-signature music with mega-chops as well as laying down a monster groove. Steve has studied with drum guru, Bob McKee and has also drawn much praise from international percussion giant, Jamie Haddad. CuDa/RenKo/CuDa were well received performing in local NYC clubs. Steve attended the Manhattan School of Music.
