Biography
Chasing Fire is a Pop/Rock band that formed in 2011 upon drummer Johnny Tracy’s return to Kansas City after he attended the Atlanta Institute of Music. Together with acoustic guitarist and lead vocalist, John Nigro, they began writing music and playing live as a duo. In early 2012, they added David Hilton as lead guitarist and within weeks they went into the studio to record their first EP, “Love In Black and White”. They continued playing live shows around Kansas City and writing new music; developing their sound and style, which can be described as soulful, sexy, aggressive, inspiring, passionate, genuine and good old fashioned fun! In the summer of 2012, bassist Mark Jones joined the group adding his own taste of R&B and Funk to the mix.
Chasing Fire released their first full length album, “Is This What You Wanted”, on May 14th, 2013. During the recording of the new album, Chasing Fire achieved radio airplay on several internet radio stations in the United States. They continue doing interviews and performing live on the air. Coupled with a rapidly growing and loyal fan base, affectionately dubbed Fire Fans, and their ability to play shows acoustically or fully plugged in, Chasing Fire continues to pack every venue they perform.
