Normal
Normal – C Walmsley

Half my day runs on coffee The better half on booze
Somewhere in the middle I shut down for a snooze
Every day is different But some things never change
Lately I been wondering Why does normal seem so strange?

My doorbell rang at nine o’clock It was a lady from the church
She brought me an Easter basket All loaded up with merch
I didn’t listen to her spiel Or let her in to see my mess
I just handed her a twenty She stuffed it down her dress

The angry guy next door Wants me to mow his lawn
He’s leaving town on Friday I asked, “How long will you be gone?”
He didn’t know for sure He’s got some work to do
He’s off to fix the world And he won’t be back until he’s through

I look around this modern world and can’t believe the things I see Has everyone gone crazy or is it just me

I went down to the tavern Just about supper time
Ordered ice and whiskey My waitress brought me wine
I asked her for some food With my stomach in a knot
She handed me a menu I said, “Just bring me what you got”

Half my day runs on coffee The better half on booze
Somewhere in the middle I shut down for a snooze
Every day is different But some things never change
Lately I been wondering Why does normal seem so strange?
Can you tell me Why does normal seem so strange?
Help me understand Why does normal seem so strange?
Why does normal seem so strange?
