This Life
This Life - C Walmsley

In the past, I never thought much about the future
I couldn’t see my life beyond my nose
Now the future’s here and I think a lot about the past
Ain’t that just the way it goes

I was never one to worry about money
I figured there would be enough in time
I worked hard for my pay, without much to salt away
Lately I pick up every dime

But, this life feels fine
It’s real, it’s mine
I’d stand in line
For this life, this life of mine

Sometimes friends will ask me if I’m happy
I’m really not sure what they mean
I wake up every day and I go to sleep at night
And I get a lot of stuff done in between

If Mulligan would let me do it over
There might be a few swings I would take
Sure I lost a couple bets, but very few regrets
And I would hate to jynx my lucky breaks

This life feels fine
It’s real, it’s mine
I’d stand in line
For this life, this life of mine

Dreams can get distracted in living day to day
When the wind’s in your direction, sail away

In the past I never worried about the future
Now the future is getting small
This could be my final show
So I’m cleaning as I go
But I’ll stick around as long as I can stall

This life feels fine
It’s real, it’s mine
I’d stand in line
For this life
I’ll take my time
For this life, this life of mine
